PURPLE1000 Ready to Extend the Pyrolysis Process in Harapan Island
Landscape Indonesia, Yayasan Rumah Literasi Hijau, and PT ASTRA have expanded a community-based waste management program using pyrolysis technology on Harapan Island, Thousand Islands Regency, DKI Jakarta Province.
Since August 2021, Yayasan Rumah Literasi Hijau has carried out intensive preparation for the expansion of this program to community members, waste bank members in collaboration with the local Kelurahan office. 2 units pyrolysis machines are currently in the process of production at the Yayasan Get Plastik workshop in Bali. PT ASTRA through its CSR program has been supporting this project since last year when the first machine was installed in Pramuka Island back in 2020.
Residents and cleaners have also prepared a strategic location for the integrated process of collection, sorting and processing of plastic waste. It is expected that the pyrolysis engine will be ready for operation in November 2021.
