Upon completing her study at Psychology Faculty, Padjajaran University, Ismutia started her career as a Management Associate at PT BAT Indonesia Tbk in1997, for Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Department. Involved in corporate statutory requirements, new corporate identity launch as well as being part of Lucky Strike F1 BAR brand activation in Indonesia, she liased with numbers of local and international agencies. In 2003, she started working for IceTV media Singapore and Typhoon Media International Hongkong as their Regional Business Director for Indonesia. Soon after she became one of the producers for Syzygy production house, in charge for a documentary film of the well known Sidoarjo mud volcano case. In 2008, she started a Media Monitoring company with clients from BUMN,FMCG, PR agency, to Embassies. In 2006, in her spare time, she started volunteering for Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN), assisting in endangered animal relocations, working closely with Forestry Department. During her involvement with JAAN, she helped translocated numbers of endangered species such as orangutans, sun bears, cassowaries, dolphins back to their habitat. Ismutia joined Landscape Indonesia to support the Community network for Pramuka island and implement sustainable program turning plastic waste into diesel fuel.
