Aria Sulhan Witoelar

Mr. Witoelar studied at the University of Indonesia (UI), Faculty of Engineering, majoring in Industrial Engineering (1990). He was active in the Student Senate, founded UI Tennis Club and became Chairman of the UI Cup 1993. During campus years, in 1990 - 1994, Aria volunteered in Dana Mitra Lingkungan Foundation (www.dml.or.id). He also started his first company, PT Gaung Cipta Semesta, organizing international cultural exchanges in 1994. Since 1996, with a partner, he established am award-winning industry leader in digital agency solution, PT Bubu Kreasi Perdana. Many clients trust their digital campaign to Bubu, including Telkomsel, Unilever (Citra, Sunlight, etc), Intel, MeadJohnson, Reckitt Benckiser (Dettol, Durex, etc.), LG, Indofood, and Manchester United. In 2003, he became a shareholder in PT Tiga Pilar Sekuritas, a member of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). In 2012, the company was acquired by Morgan Stanley. In 2004, Aria with a partner, took over the shares of PT Borneo Indo Bara, the second largest coal mine in South Kalimantan, which was then sold to Sinar Mas Group in 2007. Then they invested in a large coal mine in West Kalimantan (PT Yamabhumi Palaka) and a coal mine in Riau (PT Riau Bara Harum).  In 2008, Aria founded and became the CEO of PT Arya Watala Capital (AWC), a private equity company. Since 2015, AWC focuses in developing renewable energy Independent Power Producers using solar photovoltaic and mini hydro, and doing energy efficiency businesses (Energy Services Company/ ESCO). Since 2010, Aria is also a member of the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Renewable Energy and Environment Department.
