Sustainability Executive MBA

With the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung. Agus Sari co-founded the program and teaches in it.

Climate at the centre of general management

STEMBA is an executive MBA that puts climate, carbon and sustainable business at the centre of general management rather than alongside it.

The premise is the one this group works from daily: decarbonization is a financing and management problem, and the people who will decide it are running companies now. A curriculum that treats sustainability as a specialist elective produces managers who can describe the problem; one that treats it as core produces managers who can price it, finance it and defend the decision to a board.

Agus Sari, chief executive of The Landscape Group, co-founded the program and teaches in it. The link between the two is deliberate — the cases, the carbon accounting and the market analysis taught in the classroom are the same work the group does for governments and companies.

The school

SBM ITB’s MBA is one of Indonesia’s established graduate management programs.

It is delivered on the Bandung and Jakarta campuses in full-time and executive formats, with STEMBA running on the Jakarta campus. The school itself teaches and researches across entrepreneurship, technology and operations management for Indonesian industry, which is the base the sustainability track is built on.
